About the Artist Mary Ellen Palmeri

Born on the West coast of the US and raised in upstate New York State I now live in the American Southwest near Tucson, AZ. Making art was my first love as a child, and art continues to impact my life every day. Although I grew up in a small town I had a lot of artistic influence from my family; my father loved art & music, one of his brothers was a professional artist, my mother always encouraged making hand-made gifts and cards, and two of my five sisters are also artists.
EDUCATION: Majored in art in high school and college, earning a BS in Art from Nazareth College of Rochester, NY. Also earned a MS in Education from the same school, which enabled me to balance a teaching profession with my art while raising my two children. I still enjoy teaching art workshops and love the exchange of inspiration that always takes place in my classes.
