KEN TESORIERE
Originally from Manhattan, New York, for several decades Ken Tesoriere traveled throughout the U.S. and Western Europe, earning his living
through writing stories and theater plays and selling paintings while deepening his personal directions in both art forms.
His paintings have been shown and collected in European and United States cities such as Barcelona, Berlin, New York, Miami, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and
in smaller cities. His paintings have been selected as cover art for regional magazines and two major music albums, and his work has often been featured
in regional and local publications.
Over the past 20 years living in the Tucson area, his paintings have been shown locally and he has performed art workshops and painting exhibitions at La Encantada
and for the Pima County Library System, among others venues. Ken finds living in the Southwest "A land of magical radiant light and vistas that constantly
inform my painting." As one Los Angeles art critic aptly noted, "Mr. Tesoriere's paintings consistently display vital interplays using simplified lines
that interweave with vibrant complementary colors that, together, create emotional energies which deftly impact viewers."
Ken's preferred painting "styles" combine elements of abstract and expressionist imagery." In one interview he stated, "Painting continually allows the freedom for
me to explore diverse interests, sometimes depicting social imperatives or humorous human follies or personal introspections." Especially enjoyable is when I can
combine both." These explorations in my studio touch on love or anger, serenity or courage, and most often compassion and hope." Such creative
diversity keeps me alert as a painter." For me the Art forms that use words or visuals provide an ongoing discussion to explore our ever-changing times."
